      How we built this

      Status comes from Tesla first: its Q2 2026 Update table, its Robotaxi web page and posts from the @robotaxi account. Reporting from named outlets fills gaps, and we label it "reported". Texas registration counts come from Texas DMV public records, which list vehicles on file. A registered car is not necessarily carrying riders. Tesla does not publish a per-city fleet count, so we show those counts as Not verified.

      Status key: Paid rides, no driver in the car means Tesla offers paid rides there with nobody in the driver's seat. Some cars may still carry a safety monitor. Rides with safety monitor/driver means a person sits in every car to supervise. Testing means Tesla says preparations are underway, or named outlets report test vehicles. Announced means Tesla has named the city but no testing is reported.
